Oʻahu Back to Work

Enrollment for free training as part of O‘ahu Back to Work ended on December 2, 2020.

The University of Hawai‘i and the City and County of Honolulu created a program to offer job training for eligible Oʻahu residents whose employment was disrupted by COVID-19 economic impacts. The initiative, Oʻahu Back to Work, ran from October – December 2020 with skills training in more than 180 classes.

Oʻahu Back to Work supported more than 2,000 training opportunities for O‘ahu residents. Enrollment for the program ended on December 2, 2020, and all classes will be completed by December 30, 2020.

The initiative was funded by CARES Act money. All of the courses were free for participants.

Ongoing Educational Opportunities

The University of Hawai‘i continues to offer a range of education and training opportunities. Financial assistance is available for qualified students.

Spring 2021 classes begin on January 11. Apply by December 29.

Short term education and training is available through UH Continuing Education programs.
